From November 1 to 8, 2025, the Telekom Center Athens transformed into a benchmark for international tennis, hosting the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Hellenic Championship, an event that combined top-notch sporting spectacle, international exposure and well-organized infrastructure.

For an entire week, Athens was at the epicenter of global sporting interest, welcoming great names from the ATP Tour, international media and thousands of tennis fans, who filled the Telekom Center Athens arena and created a unique atmosphere.

High-level matches and a final that made history

The tournament’s competition program offered a rich spectacle, strong matches and moments of tension that kept the audience’s interest undiminished until the last day. In the grand final on Saturday, November 8, Lorenzo Musetti faced Novak Djokovic, in a match that gathered 15,000 spectators and the eyes of the international tennis community.

Djokovic, with his many years of experience and competitive maturity, managed to prevail and emerge as the great winner of the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Hellenic Championship ATP 250, while also winning the 101st title of his career. A historic moment that gave special significance to the organization and further raised the prestige of the tournament.

The “GOAT” of world tennis addressed Musetti, whom he defeated, stating: “I don’t know where to start. First of all, I want to express my respect to Lorenzo. At this level, all of us have more or less experienced defeats in matches like this, so I know it’s difficult. If there’s one positive, it’s your level today and all week. I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but you probably play your best tennis on clay, but your improvement on hard courts is tremendous, keep it up!”

And he added: “I want to thank the people of Greece and Athens, who came and supported the tournament, supported tennis, supported sports. It is the first time that Greece has had a tournament of this level for over 30 years and honestly, my overall experience from this week was as if it never stopped having tournaments! As if it had been organizing tournaments every year, all these years. You were fantastic and thank you very much.”

Referring to the organization, Djokovic emphasized: “I want to make a special mention of the organization, which in collaboration with the Greek authorities managed to organize this tournament in 3-4 months. There was very little time, many people do not understand how difficult it is to organize a tournament of such a level. It had a perfect finale and you (the audience) showed that you have a passion for tennis. I really hope that Athens will gain a tradition and organize many international tournaments. I love you Greece, thank you very much!”.

The successful hosting of the ATP 250 once again highlighted the Telekom Center Athens as a modern, multifunctional venue of international standards, capable of supporting major sporting events with absolute success.

The facilities, the quality of the courts, the organizational excellence and the overall hospitality experience received excellent comments from athletes, teams and official representatives of the event. At the same time, the venue hosted hospitality activities, sponsor activations and side events, creating a complete experience for spectators and partners.

The Vanda Pharmaceuticals Hellenic Championship was not merely a significant moment for Greek tennis, but also a dynamic promotion of Athens as a modern destination for international sports events. Telekom Center Athens was at the heart of this success, confirming its role as a venue capable of hosting high-profile and global events.

A week full of intensity, sporting passion and historic moments, which left a strong mark and paved the way for even more major events in the future.

The trophy presentation was undoubtedly a very special and emotional moment. Novak Djokovic, visibly moved, expressed his gratitude to the Greek public for their warm support throughout the week. “It was a fantastic week, with a unique atmosphere and an audience that made me feel at home,” said the Serbian legend. “It is a great honor for me to be the first winner of this tournament and to see Greece embrace tennis with such passion,” he added.

The presence of two world-class athletes in the final confirmed the high level of the event and offered the Athenian audience the opportunity to watch top-level tennis, in a venue worthy of the ATP’s requirements.

Telekom Center Athens presents the new Members Club, a unique space created to elevate the hospitality experience through a combination of high aesthetics, understated luxury, and contemporary design.

With a total surface area of 1,220 sq.m., the Members Club was created to serve as a multidimensional space for meetings, socializing, gastronomy, and events, combining the atmosphere of a historic private club with the contemporary demands of a state-of-the-art, multifunctional venue.

The design concept

Interior designer Kostas Gagkos and his team approached the design of the Members Club with classical aesthetics as a key influence and symmetry as a guiding principle—an element deeply connected to timeless design and a sense of harmony. The philosophy of the space is based on creating an environment that exudes balance, elegance, and understated luxury, offering a high-standard hospitality experience.

Symmetry formed the core of the entire architectural composition. All functions and individual elements were organized along a central conceptual axis, creating a sense of coherence and grandeur within the space. A key feature of this design approach is the two “twin” bars, which are positioned symmetrically and serve as defining focal points of the Members Club.

There are stadiums that host games and stadiums that make history. Telekom Center Athens clearly belongs to the latter category.

After 19 home games in this year’s EuroLeague, it’s official confirmation of what everyone already knew: Telekom Center Athens is the noisiest venue in the competition. Panathinaikos AKTOR fans recorded the highest decibel levels of any European venue in 13 games, winning the “battle of the stands.”
